Hey, just a note to all witches, wizards, spellcasters, and magic users. I've already talked to a couple of you about this, but now I'm going to make it official- I'm starting up a magic group. The idea of the group is simple- anybody who wants to can come and talk about- and learn about- magic, and hopefully we can even get some sort of magically-oriented projects underway. So if you're a magic user and feel like sharing, or even if you're not and you're just curious, let me know what a good time is and how many people are interested. I'll try to set us up with a good meeting place.

After I sent out the message over the journals, I headed out to the library and pulled out a whole mess of magic books, then went to Good Spirits to go over them. Most of it was crap, but who knows what kinds of decent magical information and rituals from other worlds might turn up in here?

... Also, um, just wondering, but what projects do you have in mind?

I didn't have any specific ideas in mind, but I know a guy who wanted to create an airship. Basically, it's whatever people bring in and decide we want to try.

.. An airship? That would seem like a good project to work on, but I'm not entirely sure how I would help with my magic. .. Anyway, doing whatever anyone brings in sounds good though.

Well, not every magic is gonna be suited to every project. I figure once we all get used to what everybody can do, we can work with it.

Oh, alright! My magic is primarily based around support and healing, which is why I wasn't sure..

Hey, nothing wrong with that. Where I come from, true healing magic is rare- and incredibly valuable as a result.

It is? I guess healing magic is rare in other worlds as well..

It's a lot easier to destroy than it is to mend. Always has been.

Nah, just sort of a folksy truism.

Actually... now that she mentioned it, I couldn't recall where I'd heard it.

Oh, I see.. I haven't actually received any wisdom from my grandparents, so I'm not really sure what would count as a "folksy truism" other than that example though.

Oh, it's the usual stuff. 'Don't count your chickens before they're hatched.' 'Once bitten, twice shy.' 'An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.' That sort of thing.

Look, I guess we kinda got sidetracked. The point is, the ability to fix, to build, and to heal will always be more valuable than the ability to break, to destroy, or to wound. Because it's much harder.
