Well, um. That book I just found on the ground seems friendly enough.
APPOINTMENTS
This is the place for 'em. Poke me, ping me. Any way you want me, long as you love me, it's alright.

April 12th in the AM! AAAND Action!
Knock Knock!]
WAIT WHAT'S MY LINE
Knock. Knock.
The hell? Oh. Dammit, that'd be the landlord. I think I forgot to pay the-
What time was it?
Knock. Knock.
... Wait. No. Vampires.
Luceti.
Willow.
Oh, Hell's Bells. I dragged myself out of bed, took a swig of last night's coffee- Geeehhh, last night's cold coffee- and pulled some pants on, then answered the door.
"Oh. Uh. Hey. Sorry. I, um. Overslept.
... My shirt had a coffee stain and a tuft of my tangled, desperately-in-need-of-a-cut hair fell into my eyes.
One must cut an impressive figure among their fellows in the magical community.
OMG CUT
She gives Harry a once-over.] Th-that's okay. Um, should I come back later...?
OMG CUT
Oh, hell, how had I managed to put my pants on inside-out?
"Um. I."
I blinked.
"Um, it doesn't take too long, right?"
no subject
Still, she doesn't want to make him uncomfortable.]
no subject
Let's just say I'd developed a tolerance for awkward.
"Yeah, we may as well just get it over with, then. I overslept anyway."
no subject
[No, seriously, don't mind her as she begins nailing crosses to your walls.]
no subject
Was she...
Crosses?
... Wait, crosses worked and pentagrams didn't? Oh, hell's bells, man, that's just not fair.
"Can, uh. I help?"
no subject
Wanna put those on either side of the window?
I AM THE FASTEST TAGGER
I took the hammer and crosses and began securing them as she'd directed.
"So do you do magic stuff like this a lot?"
... Yep. That was me. With the most subtle recruitment pitch in the world.
ME TOO LMAO a month later
Still, it's not like she's kept it a secret since she got here. ...Not all of it, at least.]
Y-you could say that, yeah. [She's moving onto the garlic now, trying to act casual. Casually avoiding his gaze, yep.] It's sort of...it's sort of what I do, I guess.
Would it annoy you if I REDID THAT RESPONSE BECAUSE I FAIL
Conversations while not facing each other were a lot easier, but, well, that wasn't always practical.
"Hmm. I'm kind of a wizard, although apparently I suck at it when dealing with somebody else's vampires."
There was another brief pause, while I put another cross into place.
"I'm working on getting together a group, actually. People who work magic, know about magic, or just want to learn about magic, from various realities."
haha
Sort of...like, a magic club? [Because she went to one of those in college, man. And it was pretty lineface-inducing.]
no subject
But somehow I imagined she'd had something similar.
"Right, except not one run by, y'know. New-agey people who've mistaken their religion for actual supernatural abilities. Or D&D players who take their game a little too seriously."
It's possible I'd had a few encounters with magic groups, "arcane orders," and "secret societies" like that. A chapter of the Ordo Templi whatever, a few Wiccan or Druidic organizations. Actually, several of them had asked me to come speak to their groups or even join. I'd universally refused, despite one of them offering me money in the wake of an incident on the Larry Fowler show.
Sometimes I think I'm too honest for my own good.
"This place has legit magic. I could make a fireball if you want proof."
no subject
The magic nerd in her is jumping with joy, but the rest of her isn't so keen on throwing caution to the wind.]
Oh, I know there is. Just...this would be more like, um, like a theory thing, right?
I really need to stop doing this, dammit, but this week kicked my ass.
"Uh... sure. It could be a theory thing in theory."
I shall kick this week's ass for kicking your ass!
Okay...so, what would we be doing, exactly?
[Wow, that? Was a stupid question.]
I mean, were you thinking we'd. I dunno. Have lectures, o-or demonstrations, or...a Spell of the Week? [Also stupid questions, Will.]
THIS IS JUST AN ASSKICKING CHAIN, IS WHAT.
.
I guess it sounds...interesting. [But her tone is still pretty non-committal. Just mentally going through all the things that might go wrong...]
no subject
I shrugged.
"Most of the projects I had in mind are fairly minor, anyway. Enchanting items, protective spells on the village, that kind of thing."
Maybe I wouldn't mention the artificial ley line experiment just yet. I didn't want her thinking I was some kind of magically-inclined Doctor Frankenstein or anything.
no subject
Well, it...sounds like a potential good time.

She almost wants to explain. Almost. It's not like she hadn't come close to telling perfect strangers, in this place. And Harry was a wizard himself, so he should be able to understand, right?
...But no, not yet. There's a difference between discussing your Issues with your closest friends, and acquaintances. Acquaintances from another world, to boot.]
H-hey, so it looks like all I need to do now is the incantation. Won't take long!
no subject
I stood back and folded my arms, watching with some curiosity. This would be my first time seeing magic from another world in action, I was a little curious.

Willow holds her book in front of her and begins slowly reading aloud in Latin. When she reaches the final line--"his verbes consensus recissus est"--she closes it and looks back at Harry, a satisfied smile on her face.]
There ya go! One apartment, de-vamped.

[[OOC: Hope this is okay. I was a derp and completely missed Harry's post about the group.]]

Yeah, sure. It's pretty much open membership, but it's nice to have an idea of who's interested. You a practitioner, or just an interested party?
written | June 28
I'm a practitioner.
[And due to the terminology used, Roji jumps to some conclusions.]
You don't happen to use Magic Law, do you?

Long story short, sorry for the misunderstanding. I got a little excited.
