First Casefile: New Feather [Action/Written]
[Action]
Well, sure, I was just sitting on the roof. I mean, hey, it was a bit chilly, but I'm used to that. And I wasn't sure where I was, but hell, that's hardly any change.
The fact that I couldn't figure out how to get down was entirely irrelevant. I assure you. So there I sat, on the roof, scribbling in my journal.
The wings, it seems, didn't come off. Damn near fell off the roof figuring that out. They still throbbed.
The journal was an interesting thing, actually. It had my name on it. Apparently it updated to represent the journals other people used? I'd tried to look at it through the Sight. Luckily, the freezing cold was doing wonders staving off that headache.
I looked over the side again. Considered trying to climb. But, well, it was a rather tall building, and there weren't many handholds within reach. No. No, better to find some other method. So I'll just keep writing in that journal.
[Written]
Hey. Don't know if there's some sort of etiquette to this... journal thing, or whatever it's called, but I have a question.
Where the hell am I, why do I have wings, and how did I get on top of this building without any clothing?
I don't think I was that drunk last night...

Re: [ action ]
I tucked the journal under my chin, then slowly climbed down onto the ladder, making my way ever-so-cautiously down to the bottom.
Hey. I wasn't likely to die if I fell, but I didn't fancy breaking an ankle on my first day.
[ action ]
Rogue holds the ladder steady until he is just a few steps above her and then she takes about two and a half steps back, leaving them both plenty of space as he comes to ground.
And as a considerate sort, she doesn't talk to him again until his feet are on the ground.]
Anyone show ya the guide?
[ action ]
I rolled my shoulders, craned my neck from side to side. Not sure why, I'd been stretching a lot between pacing and looking for potential saviors up there, but I always felt the need to stretch after escaping confinement.
"... Can it wait until after I've found clothing, though?"
She seemed pretty solid, and would probably not be too disturbed by a torso covered in scars and a right hand out of a pyromaniac's interpretation of Richard the Third, but passersby might. Besides, it was cold.
[ action ]
Definitely a fighter, or someone's punching bag.
And her gaze does snag on his hand and if Harry's watching closely, there's a surprisingly knowing and empathetic wince at the corner of her eyes.
I really hope I never hafta touch this guy.
But then she will seek to return her gaze to his, politely looking away from his... general nakedness and war wounds.]
Yeah. Two things. [She holds out one leather gloved hand for the book, and though the glove is in excellent condition, a close observer will be able to distinguish that they are also very worn, and fit exactly to the ends of her fingers, unlike your generic leather gloves. The stitches at the end of each finger are far from professional, but they get the job done.]
Clothing shop's over there. [She jerks her head towards it.] Everything's free, so don't worry about it. Item Shop's over there. [And this she points to with the thumb of her unoccupied hand.] That's where any of your personal bits will be that ain't in the clothing shop or the smithy, if they came with ya.
[You know, jewelry, books, and the like.
And she doesn't give directions to the smithy. It's kind of hard to miss, what with the constant smell of smelted metal.]
[ action ]
[Yeah, that was gonna need to happen sooner rather than later.]
"Thanks for the help, then. I'm gonna go grab my clothing."
[ action ]
Sure. Just give me your journal for a sec.
[Normally she'd let it pass, but hey, rude.]
I'll mark the guide an' you can be on your way.
[ action ]
I handed her the journal, a touch sheepishly. I'm not an easy man to distract, but I really don't like not having my stuff.
[ action ]
There, the quick an' dirty guide ta Luceti.
[A wry smile.]
Welcome ta paradise.
[She hands the journal back to him.]
[ action ]
"Why is that the scariest thing you've said so far?"
[ action ]
[She'd love to say 'It ain't so bad,' but Rogue is fresh off the love experiment, and right now everything sucks. So she just smiles a little and shakes her head.]
Get some clothes an' read the guide. I'll be back in the Item Shop until three, if ya want me ta keep an eye on any of the new stuff for ya.
[She'll start moving cautiously around him now, clearing the way for him to go and so she can reclaim the ladder.]
[ action ]
"Alright. Thanks again."
I started to walk off, then paused. Wait a moment.
"Oh. Harry Dresden, by the way. And you are?"
[ action ] I should say that 4th Walling is OK!
Rogue.
[Action] Likewise, though his own fandom is a wee bit more obscure.
"Pleasure to meet you."
He turns around and heads for the clothing store again.
Wait. Did she say...?
I shook my head. Probably a coincidence.
[Action] She'd have likely seen it in stores, but not picked it up
